Skiing in Italy

Winter weeks in the Alps, from Madonna di Campiglio to the Dolomites.

Why experience skiing in Italy

Skiing in the Dolomites is the reason most travellers come to the Italian Alps in winter: linked slopes across Val Gardena, Val di Fassa, Alta Badia and Cortina, the Sella Ronda circuit, and the Brenta range above Madonna di Campiglio. Cervinia, under the Matterhorn, adds high-altitude snow from late October.

Our ski holidays in Italy bring the practical parts together: a hotel close to the lifts, the ski pass for the whole stay, airport transfers and local support, with routes suited to the conditions and the group.

Time off the snow matters too, from mountain huts serving polenta on the piste to the food and atmosphere of the valleys, making the week a complete winter journey rather than only a sequence of ski days. The season runs from early December to early April.

Skiing in Italy: frequently asked questions

Where is the best skiing in Italy?
For linked terrain, the Dolomites: the Sella Ronda circuit joins four valleys and Dolomiti Superski covers twelve ski areas on one pass. For altitude and a long season, Cervinia, at over 2,000 m under the Matterhorn.
Is the ski pass included?
Yes, on all our ski weeks, together with transfers from the airport and the hotel. The pass is issued for the whole stay and handed over on arrival, so no time is lost at the ticket office.
When does the ski season start and end?
Early December to early April in the Dolomites and Madonna di Campiglio. Cervinia usually opens in late October and skis into early May thanks to its altitude.
What level do I need for the Sella Ronda?
Intermediate. The circuit is 40 km of pistes plus lifts and takes a full day, but the runs are mostly blue and red, and a guide keeps the group ahead of the afternoon queues.
